Away from photographers already recognized by all and often used as references in the field, there are unfortunately many young (or old) artists who remain unjustly unknown to the general public despite their outstanding work. It is this perspective that I propose to discover the magnificent work of the young talent of the photo Swiss Jonas Fornerod, 25, straight from our beautiful city ofLausanne. Having several projects under his belt, I decided to select one that has already received excellent reviews from the web community, “The Center of My World.”
Text by Patrick Hart, Jonas presents his project, which since the time, became a real series of great images: “The Center Of My World” is primarily a breakaway in the maze of sometimes equivocal my heart. This project combines introspective egotism assumed the practice of self-portrait and the desire to establish a new exchange with the audience every frame proposed.
Kind of fragmentary showcase of my thought, “The Center Of My World” stigmatizes the perpetual agitation of the world around me and highlights my position, to literally and figuratively, in this society that sometimes escapes me. Light , it is garish, lurid or more watered down, remember that it is definitely impossible to escape.
In each image, the light concentrates in itself the interest of a priori banal scene that metamorphosis to environ, making my “world” dream, like the atmosphere of science fiction that I love. This work betrays a certain form of individualism that I trace my body up exacerbating the center of universe sometimes distorted and often dark. As if to atone for some anxiety of darkness. As for me cozy up to a part of my personality that this series has allowed me to better tame.
