Beam
After the gold in team competition, Romanian women gymnasts continued recital yesterday, in the apparatus finals. Catalina Ponor and Larisa Iordache made the final show of the beam, where they have been conquered rival and, in that order, gold and silver medals. The two Romanian women entered last in the competition, their exercises as if from another world than the other finalists. As expected, experienced Catalina Ponor won the gold medal with a mark of 15.200, managed to record the award in the fourth continental title. Instead, Larisa Iordache, silver medalist, thanks to 15,133 notes, it was the first individual title of his career in the senior competition. The third step of the podium was in Hannah Whelan (United Kingdom), denoted by 14.333. Numbers medals were won by Romania 9:10 a “European” will hardly be forgotten.
Ground
Once captured the silver medal on beam, her first career title at the senior, the youngest team Romania, Larisa Iordache, managed to even half an hour away for the first time and become European champion. Jumping
The first Romanian gymnast entered in the apparatus finals, Sandra Izbasa, was yesterday crowned European champion in jumping contest, although they qualified for the final with only the second score. Izbasa won with an average grade of 14.883, beating them in the final standings of the sample of Russian Oksana nem?oaica ?u?ovitina (14,683) and Giulia Steingruber swiss (14 624). Basically, Izbasa secured another gold medal after the first jump, the judges noted the 14,900, but managed a Romanian gymnast performance almost as good and in a second trial, for which he received a score of 14.883. Sandra managed to defend their European title won the previous edition and bring the eighth medal for Romania at the European Championships in Belgium.
