The 53 year-old ’30 Rock’ star is engaged to his much younger girlfriend, Hilaria Thomas, and yes, his rep has confirmed the news. Any bets on how he popped the question? Because I’m guessing he spelled out, “WILL YOU MARRY ME” on Words With Friends. Probably got at least 70 points.
“Yes, it’s true! Alec proposed to Hilaria this weekend and we’re all excited for the newly engaged couple,” the rep says. “Alec’s birthday is tomorrow – great way to celebrate!”
Thomas is a yoga instructor and co-owner of New York’s Yoga Vida yoga studio. The two began dating last summer. At the time, Alec confirmed:
“I’ve got a woman in my life now.”
He added: “My girlfriend is very important to me.”
As is her ability to put both legs behind her head, I’m sure.
Last August, Alec sold his Upper West Side, New York home to move in with Thomas in SoHo.
Previously, Alec was married to actress Kim Basigner, and he has a sixteen year old daughter with her, Ireland. Alec and Kim were married for nine years, before they split in 2002.
This will be the first marriage for Thomas. Hilaria grew up in Boston and Spain, studying dance at NYU before eventually becoming a yoga instructor. And she appears to be doing wonders for Alec—especially his physique. In recent months, the actor has been noticeably leaner.
Alec’s daughter, Ireland, Tweeted her congrats:
“Congratulations to @AlecBaldwin an @hilariathomas on getting engaged! Love you guys.”
Hilaria responded: “love you mas xoxo”
